They're both
cows, but.......

There is a Difference.
Any dairyman worth his trace minerals knows there's a difference in
cattle. Different types... Differences in performance. Just because
we call two things by the same name doesn't mean they're alike or perform
the same way. That's especially true with trace minerals. They are not
all alike.
OPTiMIN Proteinated Trace Minerals are more readily absorbed than inorganic
minerals. That's because OPTiMIN's are trace minerals chemically bonded
in a unique form that is easily absorbed and used by the animal's system,
even under difficult dietary conditions. Available in Zinc, Manganese,
Copper and other elements, OPTiMIN's replace 20-40% of the dietary inorganic
element as an economical and effective means of providing highly available
trace mineral supplementation.
|
Not all organic
minerals are alike. No other product has the chelation strength, stability
and consistency of OPTiMINs. And no other product has the research and data
to back up the bottom line performance you can expect with OPTiMINs.
Put the best trace minerals in your herd's diet. And remember, not all cows
are the same. Neither are all sources of trace minerals. |
5
Proven Advantages For
Feeding OPTiMINs
1
- Improved Fertility
Maximising milk production is directly related
to minimizing empty days.
Field trials of three separate herds, in over two years of evaluation
under commercial dairying conditions and veterinarian supervision, showed
that OPTiMIN in the feed reduced empty days by 21, 24 and 41 days. In
addition, the conception rate increased by 38% while services per conception
were reduced by 23% to 35%.

2 - Immune System Activity
It is well accepted that dietary copper plays a crucial role in maintaining
the natural immune system. Recent Colorado State University trials on
incoming feedlot cattle supplemented with Copper OPTiMIN demonstrated
higher antibody titer levels than those given Copper Sulphate or no additional
Copper.

|
3 - Hoof Condition
Healthy hooves are essential in minimizing lameness. Researchers at the
University of Illinois evaluated the effect of feeding either Zinc Sulphate
or Zinc Proteinate (OPTiMIN) on hoof strength of feedlot heifers. The
results of the study indicate that feeding Zinc Proteinate (OPTiMIN) to
feedlot cattle improved hoof hardness and elasticity.

a: Largest SEM of
treatment means reported.
b: Probability of observing a greater F-value.

4 - Somatic Cell Count
University of Florida researchers found that dairy cows fed OPTiMIN Zinc,
Manganese, and Copper at recommended levels maintained lower somatic cell
counts (240,000 to 120,000) than those not receiving OPTiMIN proteinates.

5 - Bottom Line Profits
OPTiMIN's guidelines and goals are quite simple:
- Return a minimum of £3
to the end user's bottom line profits for each £1 spent on OPTiMIN.
- Improve or resolve problems
common within the industry.

The
OPTiMIN Advantage
Nutritional needs including essential minerals are greater than ever for
today's highly productive animals. This need often exceeds the amount
of nutrients animals can absorb from conventionial diets, regardless of
the level of supplementation with inorganic trace minerals. OPTiMIN Proteinated
Trace Minerals are essential in meeting today's nutrition demands.
OPTiMIN Proteinated Trace Minerals are organic complexes, chemically bonded
to the appropriate trace mineral in a form that is easily absorbed and
used by the animal's system, even under difficult dietary conditions.
This unique process minimizes oxidation-reduction reactions, and allows
totally safe blending of OPTiMINs with each other, with vitamins, and
with other reactive nutrients in feed and supplement.
|
OPTiMIN proteinates
resist the attack of anions such as hydroxide, phosphate, carbonate, oxalate
or phytate, thus maintaining a soluble form of the mineral so that they
can be more readily absorbed in the small intestine. The metal complexes
are soluble and stable until they are absorbed by the animals metabolic
processess. Once deficiencies become apparent, OPTiMIN Proteinated Trace
Minerals are a fast, effective way to correct the problem.
OPTiMIN Proteinated Trace Minerals are available in Copper, Iron, Manganese,
Zinc, Cobalt and Selenium. They are designed to replace 20% to 40% of the
added dietary inorganic element as an economical and effective means of
providing highly available trace mineral supplementation. |

What
USERs Say About OPTiMINs
"High merit Holstein animals fed OPTiMINs recorded a conception
to 1st service at 66.7% compared to Control Group of 41.7%"
Dr John Doherty, St Patricks Agricultural College, Monaghan
"I am delighted with the results achieved in my herd, both for
improved fertility and lower Somatic Cell Count, since I started using
OPTiMINs"
S. Allen, Co Londonderry
"I have fed OPTiMINs since January 1996. Fertility and milk quality
has improved each year. Yearly weighted Scc averages speak for themselves"
