FOR
CALVES.
ORGANICALLY
CHELATED TRACE ELEMENTS PLUS VITAMINS TO BOOST INHERITED LEVELS, ESSENTIAL
FOR APPETITE, GROWTH AND IMMUNITY.
Many calves are born with inadequate body levels of critically important
trace elements such as
iodine and selenium. In some cases they do not survive calving. In others,
they survive, but do not develop resistance to infections such as scours
and virus pneumonia.
These calves are frequently lethargic, and often have poor appetites,
in spite of having received colostrum, which can only be as good as
the trace element status of the cow. (A weak calf is the end result
of an imbalanced or deficient cow, whose colostrum will also be deficient.)
Independent trials and 'user' experience have consistently shown that
calf performance can be improved significantly by giving Liqui
Thrive Cattle in the first few days of life or when introduced to
new circumstances.
All bought-in calves should be fed Liqui Thrive in the milk (or milk
substitute) on arrival at the farm. The 20ml dose should be given in
the milk, split over 3-4 days, (ie. 3 days at 7ml or 4 days at 5ml).
Calves over 4 weeks may be drenched with a single dose of 20ml. All
calves should receive a further 30 ml dose 12 weeks later.
Suckled calves should be drenched at de-horning or at any convenient
time after 4 weeks old. To drench any calf under 4 weeks is risky and
it is recommended that younger calves be treated via the cows milk by
drenching the cow. This practice has also been shown to improve likelihood
of early conception, as imbalances resulting from natural or induced
deficiencies of elements such as selenium and copper can influence both
the onset of oestrus and conception.
Pack sizes of Liqui Thrive Cattle for Calves (and Suckler Cows) are:
1.0 litre - sufficient to treat 50 baby calves once, or up to 10 cows
2.5 litre - sufficient to treat 125 baby calves once, or up to 25 cows
5.0 litre - sufficient to treat 250 baby calves once, or up to 50 cows
